Conclusions from this training evening.
1) Existing rise leaders will say "Nee man, its true and I do not get paid enough to go through all this, they should treble my bonus!?
2) anyone else who has not yet lead a ride will find they respect the ride leader hugely after learning all that is going on before during and after a ride just so that 20 odd guys n gals can go off on a ride to have fun together.
True story.
During the 6 months it took to pen it all down, I constantly asked myself why I go through all the work and not just can it and go off on my own ride, alone or with a buddy.
It seems like nothing but stress, calls, responsibility, worry, and no time to enjoy the ride yourself.
Until you apply the principles and make it work for all.
But it is the responses after a ride from the fellow riders that make all the effort worthwhile and fuels your soul to go through it one more time.
So if you would like to understand the dynamics, the AARTO Regulations and the ins’ n outs from prep to asking to constructive feedback, then come along anyway.
Online Booking made Andy.
Still a few more slots open on this course
Brilliant!
After attending your very informative course Andy, I now have even more respect (and gratitude) for our ride leaders. I seriously didn't realise just how much thought and preparation goes into putting a ride together, let alone the responsibility that comes with it.
Thanks for sharing your vast knowledge and experience with us Andy, the notes, lekker catering too. Also to John Carr for his contribution to the evening.
Much appreciated
Jenski
Ditto Jenski - glad I attended, very informative as always Andy. Thanks for all the hard work you put into these training sessions - it really shows!
Thanks Andy.
Once again, the club members must appreciate guys like you, who dedicate so many hours of your private time to better the club structure, and that all for mahala.
Its clear you guys are so passionate and full of knowledge AND you are prepared to share this all with us.
Also many thanks to John Carr, who sat there the whole evening untill we were finished just so he can lock up. Also his private time.
And thanks to Donford Stellenbosch for making available the venue for us.
Was a great evening.
Thanks all, it was a great evening and thanks for the feedback.
Look forward to seeing you on the next ride.
